Those tags are cute! I can see how someone might want to collect them. :) I used to live just two houses down from the local John Deer owner. We played with his daughters all the time.
He sort of reminds me of the guy at the party during the movie "Say Anything" who's responsible for holding the car keys until the attendees are sober enough to drive home....
What an interesting collection of tags! I've never seen anyone do that to his hat. You'd think that where I live I'd have seen something like that before.
Not just a great photo, but such an interesting one too - real case of photojournalism! I didn't realise what they were until I read the comments, but someone sure has managed to get a great collection together!
Great shots David. Interesting that they keep them on their hat. Thinking of how they tag the livestock that wouldn't seem to be the easiest place to grab one off.
You won't believe what I thought those were at fist glance...something that would fit over a pole...you know, slide down the pole for some reason. Yeah, stupid I know, but without all the perspective, it's strange what the eye sees and what use the mind can create for it!

Oh that is fun .. sort of like a teen agers back pack with all its doo-hickies dangling .. or my silly keyring collection ..
How inventive is that? Great collection.
You find the best stuff, David. All life is art. I remember that when I come to your site. So what's he do with those things?
Yep, it jest might catch on....
I've never seen these before. How cool.
Hello David!
I really laughed at this one!
Have a great day!

THat's a great collection. It certainly makes for a distinctive hat. Happy WW
Love the color combinations and of course the post title - PERFECT with a dash of brilliance!
I want one of those hats. Where can I get one? :-)
Lovely colours. As it loaded, i first thought it was a necklace around someone's neck!

I love it. What a unique way to dress up your hat band. Have a great WW. :)
Am I having a déjà vu moment here? Both the image and the word "stockman" triggered it.

Okay, what are they, hotel room keys? Tractor keys? strong box keys? keys to laughter? All of the above and then some?
Too funny David

*chuckle*
Who needs words with pictures like that? Really good label too.
Hey now, you wouldn't be cheating by any chance? I have a sneaking suspicion I may have seen that hat somewhere else before. Hmmmn..
David, if you'd like to visit my blog, send me an e-mail to the address on my profile. I didn't realize I hadn't sent you an invitation until today.
Well caught Sir David.
Just a few miles from Grantham is the home of Deere Tractor base.
Come and join us on a Steam Train Journey.
I too echo everyone's question.
What are those things on the hatband?
Will you give us a clue David?
They are ear tags for stock, either cattle or sheep.
David, I must say I like your photo of the hat much more than the hat itself. You elevate it into art.

That was a great (and funny) catch.
Tags for cow ears right?!? They sure are colorful...
that's a lot of tags!

Haha, that's awesome! Looks like something you'd see around my neck of the woods....

Love it! We are big John Deere fans here having sheds full of machinery. Great pictures, David.

Love it! How creative.
Very colorful. I imagine this is better than shoving everything into his pockets.
