Where's Dr Seuss When You Really Need Him?
A US driver was stopped on suspicion of being a terrorist after his radioactive cat was mistaken for a bomb. Anti-terror cops using specialist radiation detectors on motorway traffic flagged down the man. But a search of his car revealed only a cat that had undergone radiotherapy for cancer three days earlier.

Very amewsing ;)
Do you suppose they expected a 'blow up' of the cat's x-ray as well?
Goodie, such sophisticated spy-ware!
I can see the day when the pull me over for not having brushed my teeth. ;-)
"when they pull me over" ... Sorry.
That really is big brother going overboard!
Your musical footnote needs a melody. OC and I read your blog together and groaned in unison.
I can't even describe how hilarious I find stories like that. Is it because of the fact that we radiate ourselves (and apparently) our pets to kill cancer, basically fighting fire with poison? Or because "the man" got caught with his britches down? Or is it the combination of both?
The things they can do with technology nowadays....
Well, as funny as it is to find him getting stopped for radiation detection, I'm delighted the man cared enough to treat his cat's cancer instead of just putting his pet down. That has got to be really expensive treatment for the poor kitty.
Peace!
Yikes - poor moggy!
Awww! Poor puddy tat!
Very funny.
Well at least im first to say --
-- What a Purrrr-fect Post David.haha.
Glad to hear they didn't blow up the poor cat! They might have done, over here!
I am that cat
Idiots abound in America. They just do. I think it's in the water. Bwahahahahahaha. Have a great day. :)
Crazy! I wonder if some zealous Homeland Security dude might want to confiscate Alex because he has a microchip implanted under his skin for identification purposes.
nice to know we are all being monitored for radioactivity! When do we start to glow?
This was one time I had to ponder your parting pun. And that made it so much the better. Complicated felines indeed.
If that happens with a cat, I can only imagine how a human would feel when being pulled over...and having to explain about radiation treatment. No fun!
Oh man! That's going a over board. Glad they checked first before taking action. :(
I did love your footnote tho!
Oh, that's too funny! My son wanted to give me one of those countertop gardens, with the growing lamp and all. I could just see the ATF raiding our house, looking for weed.
Shoot first, ask questions later, right?
Peace - D
Oh good grief, cats are just not allowed to be cats anymore...now they have to play the part of bomb? "Playing the part of the bomb was Itchywhiskers"
And Hilary...too funny!
