Training Routine Bombs Out
Maybe the pilot was aiming for a Target store instead. Residents in a Tulsa apartment were shaken but unharmed after a National Guard non-explosive training bomb fell onto their apartment building. The 25-pound bomb fell – unknown to the pilot - from an F-16 fighter jet and landed in the unit's bathroom. The National Guard is investigating the cause of the incident and said that until the investigation is completed training bombs will not be used.

Hi David!
Thank you so much for sending all those new readers my way. It is so nice to see so many new "faces" commenting on my blog!
Take care!

Gosh that could have had a whole different scenario - thank goodness no one was hurt. Love that footnote (:D)
Ugh. I'm glad it wasn't tragic, but still scary. Thanks for the 'homer' snicker :-)
How are things down under?
That brought back a memory from the Air Force...I was once part of a unit called up into the hills around Chattanooga to investigate a "bomb" that some squirrel hunter had stumbled across.
It was in fact a "training bomb" and no danger to anyone unless they tripped over it!
Yikes. Glad no one was hurt. I thought for a minute there the war on terror went domestic!
We saw that on the news. Good thing no one was hurt. 25# would hit awfully hard.
So now they are going to use real bombs?
Whole new connotation to "dropping a bomb in the toilet."
Those were the days when the government relied on good old-fashioned eavesdropping! :-)
I wonder what the investigation will involve. Are they trying to find a scapegoat, I wonder.
Crystal xx
For some reason or another the fact that "till the investigation is over training bombs will not be used" isn't very reassuring. I wonder what they'll use instead.
The mind boggles....
Wow, gives new meaning to taking a dump. At least they were polite enough to use the bathroom ;-)
Peace - D
"Training bombs will not be used.."
They'll only use REAL ones then huh?
Is it a training bomb if it kills someone? Maybe it's a real bomb then.
Now that the Pentagon has most of the money they're developing a new generation of "training bombs."
Old military duffel sacks will be stuffed with dollar bills as a cost-effective upgrade for these important military aids.
President Bush hailed the measure as a "win-win" and praised the idea as a "sustainable option that avoids plowing worthless greenbacks into landfills" while continuing to "keep our reservists on maximum readiness in the global war on terror in Oklahoma."
The list of other new targets in the US remains classified.
