Question Time

Try and answer these questions without referring to the internet - and then leave me a comment with your answers. Yes, you can use the help of a work colleague or a family member.

  • Who succeeded George Bush senior as US President?
  • What vegetable gives Popeye his strength?
  • What colour is the famous rectangular border around the cover of National Geographic magazines?
  • Who played the part of Mick "Crocodile" Dundee in each of the three movies?
  • How many crew members does the US Air Force's surveillance aircraft, the Global Hawk, carry?
I'll post the answers later, along with the names of a) those who answered the most questions correctly and b) the person who provides the wittiest wrong answer.

Yes, I know it's been a while since the last quiz, so I do apologise. Five bloggers had all the right answers to the last Question Time quiz - they were Katy Did Not, Sharon, Bart, Daryle and Such Simple Pleasures.

The questions were: 1. How many in a baker’s dozen? 2. Who created the "Dennis the Menace" comic strip? 3. Which US astronaut was a senator from 1974 to 1999? 4. On which fictional street is "Desperate Housewives" set? 5. In which country was Oscar winner Russell Crowe born?

The answers were: 13, Hank Ketcham, John Glenn, Wisteria Lane and New Zealand.

Oh shoot! Lime didn't say after all!

Just looked at brave astronaut's answer for 5 - makes sense. And love the wit of it, and daryl's and kimberley's! That's my age when I'm old - eleventy seven! Or maybe it is now...

Well, that's my lot. All thunk out of my head. Long term memory doing ok. Short term memory (or mumnesia) very much alive and kicking. Have to confess to having to open the original post in a new tab to remember questions 4 & 5.... :-/

What colour is the famous rectangular border around the cover of National Geographic magazines Yellow!

Who played the part of Mick "Crocodile" Dundee in each of the three movies? Ay, mate, Paul Hogan!

How many crew members does the US Air Force's surveillance aircraft, the Global Hawk, carry? None? (Wild guess.)

I knew some of these answers.
*William Jefferson Clinton
*Spinach
*Yellow
A lapse in memory prevented me from recalling Paul Hogan's name, but I recognized it when others said it. I know... "What she said." does not qualify as a legitimate answer.
But as for the crew, I am inclined to say that is probably a lot. Like 20-- not counting the dancing monkeys. (I have a hunch that it will be either a lot, or none.)

Let's see here...
#1: Bill Clinton (aka: Hillary's wanna be First Gentlemen, Womanizer Extraordinaire', Solemn Perjurer Whilst Under Oath and Monica Lewinsky's favorite Truth or Dare topic)
#2: Spinach of course. Eeew.
#3: Unrelenting yellow
#4: Paul Hogan...and what a hottie he be!
#5: Huh. I'm going with zero. I've never heard of this one. Heard of a Chicken Hawk, but never a Global Hawk. Guess I need to brush up on my military aircraft knowledge, eh? (Okay, I can't leave you with that impression. I won't be brushing up on my military aircraft knowledge. I might go so far as to look it up on Wikipedia.com, but no, I won't be doing any actual research. Should one land in my backyard, I'll take a more active interest in it. I know, I know. I should be a tad bit more interested in what we've got flying around our planet. But let's face it, I'm too busy grousing over high athlete salaries and outrageously compensated acters. I'm on a mission to understand why our society reveres these players and pretenders. Ain't gots no time to think about aircraft....)

Appreciate your visit to my blog, by the way. My sweet Aunt Sandi thinks more highly of my stories than perhaps she should, but that's the beauty of relatives, right? :)
