Sea Grade

Well, I'll Be A Son Of A Beach

Photograph copyright: DAVID McMAHON

The beach views here at the Langkawi Sheraton are inspirational, but I thought I'd do this shot a bit differently froma stock-standard beach photograph. The rare sight of a dead, skeletal branch among the verdant green was perfect to frame the brown rock and the choppy sea.

And you did notice the sailboat on the horizon, didn't you? It's the little white triangle located right in the crook of the branch.

That's wonderful, David. I like the way you integrated the dead branch with the sea vista and caught yourself a sailboat!

How could we not notice the sailboat? Why is that exactly where my eye went? Very artistic shot David...

Yes I noticed the sail boat. I like the branch framing the picture. Very effective.

Nicely arranged. I find I get a little tired of the typical beach shot. Are you familiar with the Muskoka beach shot? The 2 Muskoka chairs on the beach...oh, it's pleasant but geesh...

Absolutely noticed the sail boat. Mom & Dad used to have one so they have a special interest for me. Did you get any close ups of it? Good job with the image. And yes, I liked the way the dead branch framed things and added interest.

Sounds like a great holiday so far!

Cheers!

Perfectly beautiful. I wish I was there.

The framing is really great. But I'm impressed with the colors! You really have a way of finding things to photograph that are striking.

Wonderful view. Beautiful perspective with that branch, and very artistic to get the sail in the crook of the branch. Great contrasts.

And it looks so idyllic. *sigh*
I wish I was there. I noticed the sailboat but that rock to sit on appeals the most.
Hope you're having a great time (but don't be too long... *smile*)

Interesting how the dead branch frames the sailboat. Kind of eerie too.

You manage to lead everyone's eye straight to the sail boat. The water looks quite choppy, so I hope that you have been having decent weather and are enjoying yourselves!

Oh, I like this. Just a little stormy-ish coloured, enough to make me want to be there.

Fantastic picture. I like how the horizon almost disappears, and the way the tree frames the sailboat in the distance.

Very interesting photo. The sail boat looked so small. You must have enjoyed yourselves at the beach. Have a nice day.
