Photograph copyright: DAVID McMAHONThis shot was one of the series taken at Ku-Ring-gai Chase National Park in Sydney. We were walking down this path, fascinated by the vista of the Pacific Ocean, a clear blue sky and all the yachts and sailing vessels below. Then something made me look up - and I saw this wonderful, mottled old branch that seemed to stretch forever. It caught my attention because it looked like an elephant's trunk or like something out of Jurassic Park. I had to work my way right under the branch, to try and get this angle, so that it looked as if the branch just went on forever.
