Despite all the rain in neighbouring New South Wales, Melbourne is still dry. The burst of rain we had about ten days ago has prompted the growth of a little grass, so that nature strips and lawns are finally showing patches of green. But the forecast is still for dry weather and the skies are still cloudless. Early this morning, I noticed some dew, or precipitation, on the metal guttering. While I stood there looking at the sight, I realised that the diagonal roofline, the bricks, the crisp sky and the autumnal tree in the background made an ideal picture. This is only a low-resolution version of the photograph, but if you look carefully, you can see the moisture glistening on the green gutter.
