Aussiejourno's Weekly Blog Awards

Top Blogs For Week Ending 28 April

For the first time, Aussiejourno's Weekly Blog Awards have been adjudicated by a guest judge, Joel Bush of Arkansas. He has published the full list on his site Prof Bush.

The awards are meant to encourage bloggers from all round the world and they give new bloggers the chance to get their work noticed in an increasingly popular forum, alongside the world's most-visited blogs. There is no monetary reward, no live TV coverage, no red carpet interview, but the exposure comes with international bragging rights.

If you would like your blog (or someone else's) to be considered for next week's awards, please leave the url here, in the comment section. You can nominate as many blogs as you want. Entries close at midday Greenwich Mean Time each Friday.

Hi David,

I have a renewed appreciation for what you do every week. This was a monumental and challenging undertaking for me. With so many fine blogs, it was really hard to "judge" them. The rankings are up on my blog now. I was waiting for you to go first as I have had them queued and ready to go.

Best,

Joel

Hi Joel,

Many thanks for your kind words. And thank you too for your kindness in agreeing to judge them.

Yes, it's very hard to place them - I know exactly what you mean.

You're a good man and I thank you sincerely for being the first guest judge.

Bless you

David

Thank you David, your kind words, including your advice is welcomed. I will do as you suggested. My son is with me this weekend so I will not have a chance until the evening to play around with the photos. I find it ironic you living in Australia, because of a resent experience my son had with his Mom. He did a project for second grade recently on Australia, since I am out of work presently I purchase a beautiful book at a second hand bookshop all on the Australian outback country. He loved this hard cover book full of photographs. His mother upset with him ripped it up in front of him taking her anger frustrations for me out on him. He cried telling me this and I wrote about it, not sure, if you read that .I just find it ironic.

Thank you again….

Hi happyinmy40s,

I feel the pain of that experience - especially from the point of view of a young boy suddenly deprived of something he truly loved.

I hope you find work and I hope you find happiness. I'm sure your son will one day visit the Outback with you and that it will be a wonderful experience for you both.

Don't worry about your blog this weekend. Enjoy your time with your son.

Our children are blessings straight from God and we need to honour them in order for them to honour others and us.

God bless you, your son and your wife.

My warmest wishes

David

Hi David,

Thanks for checking out my blog. It was nice to get some feedback from another blogger.

If it's all right I'd like to nominate my blog (http://davids-pics.blogspot.com) for the Weekly Blog Awards ;) ! Just one question - How do I view the previous blog awards winners? I haven't been able to find any link to the blog awards results on your site.

Thanks again for the feedback, and the link. I've found your site a great resource, I'll try to put a link to your site in my blogroll.

David.

G'day Buscador,

Copper Stiletto is the judge for this week. Yes, I suppose it was like a ``week off'' for me!

I should have headed to the beach and put my feet up!

Take care

David

David,

I am happy to be on this week's list again. :) As I look at the list, I cannot think how I can manage when my turn to judge comes. I am scared but excited too. I see a very long post when that happens though. I dunno, I just see myself making comments for at least the top ten.

As I look at the list, I think joel made such a fine judging. honestly, I felt like it's you who made the list. Which makes me fear more. I just am not as good :)

Thanks for everything David. Hope to hear from you soon.

Being completely land locked here in Texas, I completely agree that you should've gone to the beach! Definitely take the time this week since you get another free Friday/Saturday from judging. :-)

Hi Chris,

Great to hear from you, but have no fear - you will do a great job. Just follow your instincts, that's all.

You deserve the judging stint, no question about it. And relax, don;t sweat it.

Just waiting on two people to confirm the weeks they can judge, and then I'll work out who's doing the judging in which week.

Enjoy it. You earned the privilege. Simple as that.

Keep smiling

David

Hi David,

Thanks for your kind and encouraging words. Having withdrawn my blog last week while I was judging, I just want to be on the record as reentering it formally.

Thanks,
