Goodbye To Blogging

That’s All, Folks

Yes, blogging has been a great adventure. Yes, it was a thrill to get almost nine thousand page views in a single day. Yes, it was a great honour to be chosen as one of Google's Blogs Of Note.

Most of all, it was wonderful to be part of a vibrant, talented community.

But I’m going to be concentrating on my novels for a while. I'll still have a strong online presence and if you would like to keep an eye on my photographic essays, you can get twice-daily updates at my Red Bubble site.

Goodbye, good luck and God bless you all.

David, if in fact this is your goodbye to blogging--I read this post after reading one AFTER it--I will miss you and your dazzling photographs and thoughtful essays.

And, yes, thank you for sending me to great blogs and for sending great bloggers my way. You are a genius of networking.

I will register for the photo updates. And you have my email address.

Well David you're up to 222 comments and I must admit, I've been visiting but not commenting for such a long time. Good luck with your novels and if ever you're in Sydney and have the time, I'd love to try to catch up since we missed each other in June. Best of luck with the novels. You'll remain in the 'reader' just in case you want to promote the new book or feel the urge. I've really enjoyed the journing. Best of luck to you. Erm I'm not going to read ALLLLLL these comments but I'm sure they're flattering as they should be.

BRIAN (MILLER)

Sorry if the announcement was a big surprise to you. It's been on my mind for a while, because I just haven't had the time to visit other bloggers and comment - in a meaningful way - on their work. Following on from that, I've been thinking about making a quiet, unobtrusive exit .... but you know I'll still visit blogs and reply to emails. I'm always there for anyone who needs me.

david mcmahon said...

I'm so sorry I left just as you returned. My bad! You're a wonderful writer, and I've watched your work for more than two years now. Good luck with creativity - and you know where to find me.

Thank you so much for your good wishes. I'm sorry I decided so quickly to walk through the Exit sign.

Funny thing is, I had enough posts on my backburner to keep me going for another 7-8 days with no worries at all. But I just figured it had to be a clean break, not a 50-50 thing or maybe-I-will,-maybe-I-won't.

Thank you for christening me Den Mom - the nickname always made me grin.

But you have my email address and you know I will ALWAYS be in touch. Good luck, God bless and of course we'll go out on a photography spree when I hit NYC
with Mrs Authorblog and the Authorbloglets!

I actually laughed at your ingenuity when you told me the letters of ``Authorblog'' can be re-arranged to from ``Tough Labor'' and ``Robot Laugh''. I wish I had the time to continue with my career, write novels AND blog four times a day. It was a lot of fun - thank you so much for being a part of it.

Thank you for your kind words. It was a real privilege to meet you at Vancouver airport early on a weekend morning - and the huge welcome you gave me when I emerged from a direction you least expected me to!

See you the next time I'm in Canada!

Hi Dear David,
I haven't been around much lately due to the fact that I had all my time taken up with my new relationship and house-hunting and now moving... so my blogging life has been pushed aside for a while.
I was very sad to learn of your departure but I totally understand.. I was always amazed at how you found all the time to regularly blog various times a day, research the post of the day and still have time for your work.

I want to thank you for being such a big part of my blogging journey! Your post of the day and sunday roast will be sorely missed even though Eddie will be carrying it on. Your daily rhymes, your beautiful photos, your witty way of writing... all will be much-missed!!

You introduced me to so many new people through your post of the day and sunday roasts (in fact I met most of my dear blogging friends through you when I started blogging and they all remain dear online friends) and I was honoured to have been interviewed by you for your sunday roast a month ago!!

Thank you David for being a very strong online presence every day and I wish you all the very best of luck in writing your novels! not that you need it as you are so very talented!

Sincere best wishes and I hope that even though it's farewell from you that it doesn't mean Goodbye...

Big Hugs!
Donnie

But mainly to humbly ask that you post on here when your next novel is in print.
