Heh, Hammer is very clever.

David, your poem has a very Carl Sandburg feel to it.

Ogden Nash, Carl Sandburg, you've got them both going on here!

You are naughty...

The County Of Wessex used to be REAL
When Anglo Saxons roamed our land!
Thomas Hardy loved the feel
Of it, and used it underhand.

He spread the rumour
That it was just myths.
Now David, with his humour
Thinks our county don't exist!

The 3rd, son, our Prince Ed,
The Earl of Wessex
Is he dead?
No, he's REAL, his county spreads from Wales to Essex!

For anyone who wonders what the Hell I'm talking about, (& David knows) its in my meme!

Lady Godiva without a care,
Rode to town on a big gold mare,
All the men came out to stare,
Cuz the lady was riding bare --

And not a one of them gave any thought to dancing standing up.

Apologies - the old phoenix has risen briefly from the word ashes again.
