Verse And Worse

Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

I played three sets of tennis
Without warmin' up or stretchin'
I lost one set to Dennis
And the other two to Gretchen

And how does the body feel today? A bit sore?

Stretching...it's good for what ails you...tennis however is beyond me.

These remind me of the poems by Harry Graham.I think you would probably enjoy them. Here's one:

In the drinking well,
Which the plumber built her,
Aunt Eliza fell;
We must buy a filter

LOVE it!!!

Warmin' & stretchin' - that's hillbilly talkin' right there!

I had no idea you were a hick.
Welcome to the club!

I wouldn't have felt so bad
if Dennis had rose from his chair,
And Gretchen had put down
that mirror and quit admiring her hair.

Yikes! Sounds like you're paying for the drinks, pal! Aren't you the clever one. Pretty good there with rhythm and rhyme! I'll be back!

David,
If you go into my blog you'll notice in the lower portion on the right side somehow my lists of interest are blank (ths caption portion). I've tried to go in and edit them but the system doesn't allow the edit. Any guesses as to whats going on and how to correct it? You seem to be computer savvy. :)

But, you see ...

Dennis was the bully boss,
You let this be a lesson;
And Gretchen got the nod because
Her sympathy's a blessin'.

Gretchen & Dennis
May well play good tennis
But while they are playing
All I am saying
Is.....
Pam Ayres is a poet........
Like you, (Though you don't know it)
You might get a deal.....
That will make us all squeal...
With delight!
Though she might die of fright!

Nuff of that , for today!
Pam Ayres is funny! Have you read her poems?
