Cleaning Up Crime

Turning Up The Heat On Theft

A dry-cleaner in Papua New Guinea has a unique way to get thieves to clean up their act - giving them a steam cleaning. A 20-year-old man in the northeast town of Lae suffered burns to his abdomen, chest and back after the shop owner turned a steam cleaner on him when he was caught stealing pants. Police seemed unconcerned about the punishment.

American or British pants? Conjures up completely different pictures (and giggles) depending on your answer...

Your Word verification says dryno BTW, spookily in keeping with the topic under discussion ;)

Well I can see punishment but burns? I do not think so.

I am in it for love, not hurting anyone.

Bwahahahahahaha. I wouldn't be concerned with the punishment either. Bravo to the owner. Have a great day David. :)

I am so glad the police were unconcerned! In this mad country I live in, the poor guy would probably have been prosecuted! If this happened more often, thieves would think again!
Great post.

In the U.S. the victim would be persecuted and the guilty one would be let free. I like their style...lol

It's been several days since he was caught. I bet the thief is depressed now.
