The Atmosphere’s Electric

Croc Shock

Crocs sandals have been banned from Austrian hospitals by health chiefs over fears they might cause heart attacks or damage life support machines. Staff have been told that the footwear can generate static electricty. Now the city's biggest hospital, SMZ Ost, has banned the shoes from operating theatres and the casualty department.

FOOTNOTE: Sole survivors.

So the shoes were told to "take a hike."

Crikey!

They're ugly shoes, anyway.

If this is really true, I know a LOT of health care professionals who spend a lot of time on their feet who are gonna be sad puppies. They might be fugly, but they're apparently the most comfortable thing ever for that sort of thing.

That's just plain daft! What's next, no satin undies 'cos they might produce static as you walk?
