Goldilocks And The Three Beers

Cheers, Mate, We'll Drink To That Nursery Rhyme

Photograph copyright: DAVID McMAHON

This shot wasn't taken on my home turf, because Jaz is not an Aussie brand of beer. I took this photograph in Langkawi during our recent holiday in Malaysia. I was walking down one of the streets in the main town area when I saw this huge carton sitting just on the fringe of a shop.

Initially I thought it was a container of lemonade, because of the colour - and it was only when I got closer that I realised what it was. The curious thing about this shot is that it works because of the slight angle. Had I shot it front-on, it would probably not have been such a strong image.

And just in case you're wondering, no I don't drink. But there are lots of Aussie blokes who make up for me.

(The Odd Shots concept came from Katney. Say "G'day" to her.)

I can see the ad campaign:

Bad packaging. Good beer.

You're right...it looks like soda pop or lemonade!

I bet there are plenty that make up for you!
Curious colour for a beer - I would have thought a soft drink too. But I love the name...

I have so much to learn where angles are concerned. I always take a shot dead center and straight on. I can see how this is a much better angle.

Not only do I love the shot, I just LOVE the word 'bloke'. I MUST use that in a sentence some time. :)

Hmm, did it say drink at own risk?

... And all that Jaz! ;-)

I know from riable sources (been there, drunk your Aussie beer) that Australians like their beer frozen (I shudder at that thought *g*). From that I conclude that no Aussie beer would be shipped in containers which show evaporating, if not to say oscillating water drops. ;-)

I should have written "sources, who have been there ... " to avoid misunderstandings, since I haven't set foot downunder, yet. ;-)

I have been by before, but apparently was too shy to speak. One odd thing to me when I have traveled in countries not my own is seeing the logos of everyday brands that I am very familiar with but written in other alphabets. Пзпсй for example--and I won't even attempt to show Coca Cola in Hindi, there are way too many letters to decipher for me. Пзпсй is Pepsi in Cyrillic. Кока Кола almost looks like what it is. But you can always tell by the color and shap of the logo.

Both brands were available in Russia, but I never saw Pepsi when I was in India.

David: I hear what your saying, i also don't drink but there are plenty of Americans to make up for it.
We used to have a dog named Jazz.

All that Jaz and not a drop passes your lips! What I find curious is how
one countires innocuous brand name can be a not so innocent brand name in another.

So you would be quite happy with the song "pub with no beer then" Now that's odd.

Odd color packaging for beer. . . great angle! Come and see my odd shot!

I know I can see those verification letters correctly but I am on my 4th time typing new ones. . . sigh I hate verification letters.
