Today's most outstanding post (and the best I've read in a very long time because it is searing, frank, honest and ultimately inspirational on many levels) is Crazy Cath's Losing Me. The other posts that made an impession today were Momma with the post Who Says Church Can’t Be Fun?; Merisi's Spring in Carnuntum; Jo Beaufoix with Let the Children Play; Mother’s Pride with Wordy Wednesday; Gourley Gang with Grandma’s Broken Heart; Parenting Issues with New Schools And Hugh Laurie; Camikaos with In With The In Crowd; Holly's I Forgot To Take Them To The Dungeon; Miss Burrows with Keep Your Passwords Safe; Brian in Oxford with It's A LabRum, Dad; Quilly's The Country Club Bum; Charles Gramlich with Sheer Creation and Lana Gramlich with Hooray For Macro.
You can nominate a post too. Just leave a comment here with the URL or link - and tell us the name of the blogger you are nominating. You can nominate more than one post. And yes, you can even nominate your own work. Righty-o, then, it's over to you ....

David - thank you so much for that. Your recommendation and comments (and others' on my post) have just validated all that I am, all that I have experienced and all that I give. Bless you.
I'm buying your new book. ;0)
David -
I am flattered that you liked my post! So happy I could bring a smile to your face.
Peace - D
David,
thank you very much!
I was surprised by the interest of my readers in this bit of Viennese history, and the fact that you liked the post too has strengthened my resolve to try to highlight more of the ancient history of Vienna and its environs.
Did you know that emperor Marcus Aurelius died here in Vienna ("Vindobona" in Roman time) in the year 180 AC, on March 17th, almost exactly 1,828 years ago today. Vienna then was a Roman military camp and civilian town, 40km upriver from Carnuntum, on the Danube, the river which formed the northernmost part of the famous "limes", the system of border fortications of the Roman empire.
oh my stars....the baptism post made me howl with laughter, especially since my 17 year old was just dunked last week. i could totally see my son pulling that maneuver. i am never showing him that video! hahahaha!
I'd like to second your opinion on Merisi's post Spring in Carnuntum. Merisi never fails to capture the essence of Vienna whether she is showing us couture house windows or ancient ruins.

Hey, it's always wonderful to meet someone from your own city, especially since I have spent so much of my life there, a large part of me is the city itself.
And of course it's always great to connect with people from Calcutta - here on the internet and in person alike...there is some kind of charm to it.
Tell me if you know Bengali, we could chatter unitelligible gibberish then : )
Another excellent selection David, many thanks.
Hopefully I can get caught up here and drop by a few of them. So far they've all been great reading. I've forgotten how tiring it can be going back to work!
Have a great day! ;o)
Ahh thanks David. My sites down at the moment due to the revamp, but it should be back tomorrow. I got your comment by the way, and we're working on the error messages. Nightmare. :D
Wow! Thank you kindly for including Charles & I in "post of the day." :)
now how do you get so much time to rad al the posts!!!......kudos to you too!!!..
David,
Momma's baptism story is priceless and so well told. "...She swam, of course, hence I am here to tell the tale..." A gifted writer for sure!

I read Cath's post yesterday and was blown away by it!
Gourley Gang completely deserved this one. Thanks for giving her the post of the day. I'll tell her.
okay...you are right...that was an amazing post by "Cath"
I just keep adding to my reader....rolling my eyes
David, I can't wait to go check out all the Picks of the day...plus I have to catch up on you...been lazy in the computer office, but busy in the gardening area...I also picked you for the E for Excellence Award because of the work you do in here and the encouragement you give to all of us. Sort of the Simon Cowell of the Blogging world...

Hi David
Just to let you know I have just posted about your question; What's the most important thing you have ever lost? Thanks for the inspiration!
Suburbia http://momentsfromsuburbia.blogspot.com/
Y'know, David, with your kind notices of Quilly's posts, you just might really be saving Quilly from pre-K. She's taking her photography a good deal more seriously, and is getting encouragement from lots of people, including other pros.
Many thanks.
dude, thanks!
and i so so so agree about the post from crazy cath. and for *ONCE* i read it before you awarded! wait, no that happened once before.
or do i just have deja vu?
no, i'm just probably hallucinating from hunger. dinner time!
Thanks David - I'll go and read the others now!
David, yet again it has taken me all day to get through these posts what with one thing and another. Just couldn't get Jo's because her site is being relocated. I'll try tomorrow.
Excellent choices again. Thanks for the invite to meet others, and thanks again for the Post of the Day.
thank you David. Not just for linking me... But for linking everyone.
Many thanks for the mention David. It makes blogging so much more worthwhile when you discover people are reading your posts! Much appreciated.
David, thanks for the highlight. I see my fellow (Amoeba) came by to thank you for your encouragement (sharing my posts). It brought me compliments and suggestions from other photographers on ways to improve and sell my photos. I have never considered myself in that light, so I am feeling a bit excited and flattered just now, but don't worry, I won't quit my day job.
I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for, but I'll try nominating Anne-berit's landscape and my own post: Purple clouds at Sunset as a photo entry (if there's any such thing). Hope you enjoy these as I did your picks! I know a lot of your entries are based on written words, but I hope you'll enjoy some photos too.
Cheers,
