Can't-Sell Phone

But It Won’t Fit In Your Pocket

That’s a big call. A Chinese man is hoping to get in the record books after creating what he claims is the world's largest working phone. His metre-high phone, which weighs 22 kilograms, is an exact copy of his own phone - but 620 times bigger. He said it has all the functions of a normal phone, with a built-in camera and internet access, but has to be plugged into the mains as he hasn't managed to build a big enough battery.

FOOTNOTE: Laud of the rings.

Why?

Love the footnote.

Are you sure that's not just the size of a normal "portable" phone, circa 1983?

I second Cath's comment: Why?

I guess the new phone is a dead ringer for the old one - ba-dump-bump!

I'm with brian...I think that was the size of my first mobile 'bag' phone when I was in practice.....of course, it had no internet capabilities because Al Gore hadn't invented it yet...:)

He doesn't have a battery big enough to power it?

This is slightly reminiscent of a Shel Silverstein poem:

Invention
I've done it, I've done it!
Guess what I've done!
Invented a light that plugs into the sun.
The sun is bright enough,
The bulb is strong enough,
But, oh, there's only one thing wrong...

The cord ain't long enough.

Wow, a pocket phone, I don't think so, may be like house phone! Anna :)
