Talking Turkey

Spokane Police Have Found Their True Calling

Police in Spokane have revealed their anonymous tip line has been receiving calls about anything but crime. Residents have called to ask which businesses are open on holidays, how long it takes to thaw a 12-pound turkey, what the boating regulations are and how long to wait after a death to read a will. The hot-line gets about a dozen calls a day, but it is not clear how many are actually crime-related.

Good grief! That's worse than people calling "information" for this type of nonsense.

Lucky Spokane? ;-)

Wouldn't it be lovely if every city had a number which all those lonely, lost, clueless souls could dial when they need to have some kind of human contact? They probably are good taxpaying citizens, why not afford them a little comfort?

It is time wasting, but done out of loneliness. I like Merisi"s idea of a number to ring for lonely people. I wouldn't mind my tax money being spent on something like that! Better than some thins they spend it on!

Lol, I guess maybe it's a good sign that the lines aren't full of crime reports. You mentioned the "folds" in the horns. The larger ones are actually growth rings. thanks for stopping by and great post again.

Maybe I should consider moving to Spokane? After all, if there's so little crime there, it's got to be a pretty good place to live.

Unfortunately this is the lot of the 911 Operators, including wanting the time. Which store is having a sale...no kidding! I don't think this is strictly an American thing, either...some mothers do have 'em...everywhere!

Son, DIL, grandson, two granddaughters live there. Among their friends and neighbors, I've not met anyone this silly. There may be hope.

Which Spokane would this be? Surely (Shirley) not the one that raised me!
