Gem Beam

Diamonds In The Rough

A Staten Island jeweller has retrieved her $20,000 three-carat diamond earrings back after she, her husband and city sanitation employees sorted through a smelly heap of garbage. The studs were in a small jar of cleaning solution, which a worker at the couple's jewellery store had accidentally thrown away.

FOOTNOTE: Carat stew.

How much money on that worker having been fired!! Not the sort of mistake that you want to make. If they were mine (I don't own anything that is anywhere near that expensive) I would be devastated.

Love the foot note "Carat Stew." I am sure the employee will be more flawless after the event than the diamonds ever were, even after that amount of cleaning. A story of many facets which brilliantly "stud" out a mile. Debs x

How much groaning must one endure? "Gem Beam?" "Carat Stew?"

You're too clever by half!

:::please note that I still check your blog every day. Evidently I have not reached my groaning capacity.:::

I'm glad I didn't have to dig for them.

When the kids were young, I once left our family heirlooms (rings) out on my bedside table to remind me to clean them. It wasn't until we were moving house (two years later) that I found them again.

Little sods.
