A Clean Pair Of Eels

Maybe I’ll Give This One A Miss

A fizzy drink made from eels has been launched in Japan and is said to be the best way to stay cool in hot weather. The yellow drink, called Surging Eel, contains extracts from the head and bones of eel plus five vitamins that are contained in the fish. In Japan the demand for eel is so high that the country has been hit by a number of eel fraud cases.

FOOTNOTE: Achilles eel.

"Psst, Psst. Hey man, over here.

"Yeah, I've got it. Got the best stuff right here.

"100 percent pure Sargasso eel."

And then he arrested the fellow for trying to buy eel from a street corner dealer. You never know what they cut their eel with.

David, if you buy one, I'll taste it. When I was a kid, every day the neighbor lady would grab every single kid she could get her hands on and jam a spoon full of cod liver oil into their mouth and give them a couple of ounces of prune juice to wash it down with. If I could handle that, this should be easy.

I'm getting very "eel" just thinking of the drink.

P.S.:
Years have passed since I watched the film "The Tin Drum" (after Günter Grass' novel "Die Blechtrommel"), yet every time I hear or see eels mentioned, the scene with the dead horsehead washed up at the beach, all covered by eels, appears before my eyes. *eeeee*
