Igor Stravinsky, the versatile conductor and composer who was considered one of the most original creative musicians of the 20th century, once said: ``Too many pieces of music finish too long after the end''.
Reminds me of an exercise I did in one of my lower level writing courses. We showed up with our short stories, and the prof made us cut the first and last paragraphs.
Nice to see a blogpost on Igor Stravinsky, one of my childhood heroes. I'll never forget the first time I heard 'Le Sacre du Printemps' at age 14.... I think my pubic hair started growing faster after that :-)

Hi Bart,
I like the sound of the teacher who thought of that. Maybe I should start doing that with every chapter in my next novel!
Cheers

Hi Antares,
I thought his quote was terrific.
