Smile, You’re On (Very) Candid Camera
Photograph copyright: DAVID McMAHON
I was on my way into Klondike Kate’s for lunch on my second day in Dawson City when I noticed this sight. I told my two companions to continue into the restaurant, and I would join them in a few seconds, as soon as I had taken this shot.
So let's test your powers of observation. Were you so intent on the painted figures that you missed seeing the pot of gold? Answer truthfully, please!
I guess most tourists stand here and only hit the shutter when their friends or family have put their heads into place in the wooden board - but I wanted to do it when there was no one else in the shot.
The last thing I want to do is to frame an innocent person!

I am off to see my o p h t a l m o l o g i s t , asap! :-)))
My excuse is that I'm not wearing my glasses and it's been a long day! ;-)
Something about the colors here is very attention grabbing.
Well, I am not really concentrating, that's all.
Sack o'gold? No fool's gold I. I doubloon'd back to make sure I hadnt missed a buck et as well as a sack .. nope ... 14K solidly sure.

Didn't even see it...
Guilty...
Kimmy
I was too busy looking to see if there were any faces in the outlines.
You last line gave me a laugh!
I missed the gold.
But not wearing glasses!
That painting is very well done.
Is that gold? I missed it.
I didn't see the gold until you mentioned it -- but I like to think that just means that I haven't become greedy and depraved! :D
Guilty as well.
Wow David.
"frame an innocent person"...zing!
Nicely done sir, I laughed out loud.
OK, OK---I confess, I did have to take a second look for the gold!
Hell, I'm a man---what more can, or should, I say???
David: The holes are all I saw. what gold?
I did look back to see a pot
and all I saw was a sack
I looked around an awful lot
I guess my vision does lack.
I've got to stop looking at your rymes first.
only you would do it this way>
I was trying to read the note off to the side and didn't see the gold! the first thing I noticed though was that there were NO faces in the cut out.
