Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

Begging your pardon
I'm off to the garden
To roll up my sleeves
And rake up the leaves

Shouldn't that be what WE are doing in the Northern Hemisphere? Shouldn't your leaves have been raked 6 months ago?

Life in a Condo

When my lawn needs raked
I get busy making tea.
I sit on the lanai and watch
While the gardener does it for me.

Get ready to hoe,
There's roses to show,
Pull up the weeds
But don't lose the seeds.

Nurture the nature
Just like the Creat-ure*
And then you can say
Yours is the BEST display.

* poetic licence! "Creat-ure" = Creator!

I have to clean the eaves
And rake up some leaves
All thanks to the strike
Of Hurricane Ike

We got wind but not rain
Our trees did not strain
We did not get it bad
To what other folks had

Happy to say
I know the way
to lend a hand
to help my friend.

One of my favorites of your verses! I will be chanting that little ditty as I rake and bag my leaves this year! (We fill about 115 bags every year)
